The regular season has ended for the Ontario Reign, and it’s time to evaluate the four rookies under entry-level contracts. Every year new players come to AHL teams, including high-end prospects that teams assign to the American Hockey League, allowing them to develop and be NHL-ready.
As the Reign traveled to Kern County Wednesday to play the Bakersfield Condors, focus in the locker room likely shifted toward sending a message against a Pacific Division rival who is the current (and likely) first round opponent in next week’s Calder Cup Playoffs.
